Japan Rail Planner provides a trip planning application, whereby a user can create and customise their own route through Japan. Links are provided to third parties to enable the user to book accommodation and travel. The service aims to make the organisation of an Japan rail trip easier.
You will not be charged for using our website. Instead, we have affiliate partnerships with various travel providers. When you follow a link out of our website to a third party (e.g. hostelworld.com) and book accommodation or travel with that third party we receive commission.

These Terms and Conditions - like our Privacy Policy - govern the use of the service on our website. They are the basis for the existing contractual relationship between Japan Rail Planner and users. Our service is intended for personal use by people eligible to purchase a Japan Rail Pass. Japan Rail Planner is an information source and planning application for Japanese train travel where you can find travel options to compile your travel itinerary and manage your route. We offer booking via third parties and provide links through to the necessary booking page to correspond with your trip parameters, where you will be bound by the third party’s Terms and Conditions.
We offer the option of registering as a user on our website. This allows you to save routes planned through our application. It is intended to optimise the use of Japan Rail Planner even further. Access to the user area is obtained by entering your email address and self-selected password. Alternatively, you are able to sign up and sign in with your Google+, Facebook, or Twitter details — please see our Privacy Policy for more information on this. The personal information stored in your user area will of course only be used in compliance with the Privacy Policy. Registration only requires that you provide a valid email address so we can get in contact with you. We will contact you to inform you of any changes to our service or Terms and Conditions. For information relating to journeys we rely on the information given to us by travel organisers and our travel partners. We aren’t able to check every piece of information on the website as this is fed to us by various API feeds, so please check all details are correct when you are redirected to third party booking pages. We cannot be held accountable for any information from third parties nor liable for any booking made through the third party.
